Foghorn Brewery

For a couple of brewing purists, FogHorn Brewhouse was born of a dream to make craft beer the way it ought to be made—from grain to glass all under one roof.

Good People Deserve Great Beer

Est. 2014 in Newcastle, New South Wales

Every ingredient deserves respect. Every beer deserves a point of difference. Every drinker deserves a taste of better.

Every flavour loud & clear. That’s what good tastes like. You have to try one… you know you want to.

Devoted Defenders Of Beer

Shawn Sherlock, Joe Lappin and Keith Grice make beer that tastes like beer. Full of flavour, extremely drinkable, and with real depth. That’s what Foghorn’s all about; never dumbing it down, only ever serving up quality. For all styles. All tastes.

Brewing since 2005, Shawn’s beer brings people along for the journey. And while he’s picked up an award or two (like Australian Brewer of the Year) he keeps it real, knowing that in true Novacastrian style, he’ll hear about it if something’s not on the mark.

Staying True To Newy’s Industrial Roots

Showing drinkers what good tastes like is easy at Foghorn, where the beer goes directly from the tank into the glass. You can’t get any fresher than that.

What was once an abandoned building in the Newcastle CBD became the city’s first craft brewery and is now a thriving restaurant and live music hub.
