Hidden Lake Cask No. 195 has been awarded a Gold Medal at this year’s World Whiskies Awards.
Cask No. 195 was one of only 5 Australian whiskies in its category to be awarded a Gold Medal at the awards – hosted by Whisky Magazine, amongst a huge number of entries.
“We’re really excited to have been awarded a Gold Medal at what is probably considered the most prestigious whisky awards ceremony in the world,” says Mighty Craft Head of Distilling George Campbell. “When we first tasted Cask 195 we thought it was something quite special, and we are very happy that the judges did too.”
“Hidden Lake represents an excellent selection of small-release, single malt whiskies. We are lucky to have such a fantastic range of whiskies currently under maturation and I can’t wait to see how they continue to develop over time. It’s just a shame that given they are all single cask expressions, each release only represents a very limited number of bottles.”
Hidden Lake is a brand that exclusively releases single cask, single malt whisky, which is produced only in Tasmania, a place long revered for producing some of the finest whiskies in the world. Cask No. 195 has been aged for 10 years in French Oak, ex Tawny casks – lending to a delicious, rich and robust character of fruit cake, marzipan and brown sugar. Sitting at an enticing 65.9% abv, this is a whisky to be sipped, savoured and enjoyed.
The Hidden Lake range currently includes single malt whiskies aged in a range of different casks, including American Oak, ex Apera, and Virgin Oak. Given that they are single-cask, each expression has its own unique differences, truly making this a range of one-of-a-kind whiskies.
Bottled at 65.9% abv, this limited expression (RRP $499 / 700mL) has currently sold out of its first allocation.
